[Edaily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] KBS 2TV’s Saturday-Sunday miniseries “The Perfection of Marriage” wrapped up after achieving its highest-ever viewership rating.

According to Nielsen Korea on the 10th, the nationwide viewership rating for the final episode of “The Perfection of Marriage,” which aired the previous day, was recorded at 8.8%. This marks the drama’s highest-ever viewership rating. It also sets a new all-time record for KBS Saturday-Sunday miniseries, surpassing the 8.1% recorded by “Twelve,” which aired last August.
“The Perfection of Marriage” is a crime thriller that follows neurosurgeon Kang Tae-ju (played by Namgoong Min) as he engages in an intense battle with criminal Noh Man-hee (played by Kim Dae-myung) to rescue his wife, Go Se-yoon (played by Lee Seol), who was kidnapped just before their divorce.
The final episode depicted Kang Tae-ju discovering that Noh Man-hee’s wife, Kim Kyung-ae (played by Lee Sang-hee), was in critical condition and rushing to perform emergency surgery on her. Noh Man-hee promised to hand over evidence of his crimes and turn himself in if Kang Tae-ju performed the surgery; after Kim Kyung-ae survived, he was arrested by the police.
Meanwhile, Choi Chi-woong (played by Woo Ji-hyun), cornered, sneaked into the hospital and attacked Go Se-yoon’s neck with a weapon. As he collapsed, Go Se-yoon mustered his last strength to stab Choi Chi-woong in the leg, and the police arrived just in time to subdue Choi Chi-woong. Later, Kang Tae-ju, despite suffering a serious hand injury while trying to stop Noh Man-hee from taking his own life with a knife, performed surgery on Go Se-yoon and saved his life.
After all the incidents had been resolved, Go Se-yoon recognized Kang Tae-ju’s sincere desire to set her free, but ultimately chose to divorce him. The final scene depicted the divorced couple reuniting at their daughter Ha-yoon’s memorial service and walking side by side along a forest path, leaving a lingering impression.
The production team shared their thoughts on the series finale, saying, “We are grateful to all the actors and staff who poured their passion, determination, and affection into creating this outstanding work, as well as to the viewers who sent us their enthusiastic support and interest.”
The drama *A Romance Other Than You*, starring Seo Kang-jun and Ahn Eun-jin and serving as the follow-up to *The Perfection of Marriage*, will premiere on the 12th of next month.
