LivsMed Inc. announced on the 7th that it has applied for product approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) for its next-generation surgical robot platform, “STARK™.”

STARK is a purely domestically developed next-generation surgical robot based on LivsMed Inc.’s proprietary core technologies. Its flagship product, “ArtiSential™,” has proven its technical capabilities through use in over 300,000 cumulative surgeries in clinical settings both domestically and internationally. STARK not only extends the multi-joint end-tool technology of ArtiSential—which allows for movement in all directions—to a robotic platform but is also expected to possess unparalleled competitiveness as it incorporates all of the core technologies the company has accumulated over the years.

LivsMed Inc. covers the entire spectrum of handheld products for minimally invasive surgery with its proprietary technology, including ArtiSential™, the vascular sealing device “ArtiSeal™,” the surgical stapler “ArtiStapler™,” and the laparoscopic camera system “LivsCAM™.” Through Stark, the company is poised to become the world’s first “full-spectrum” company to also offer surgical robots.

Stark is the first robotic system to achieve the highest level of multi-joint performance (90 degrees in all directions) in the instrument lineup inserted into the human body to perform surgical procedures.
