NEXTBIOMEDICAL CO., LTD. announced on the 10th via a regulatory filing that its revenue for the second quarter of 2026 was approximately 4.9 billion won, an increase of about 20% compared to the previous quarter. The operating loss was approximately 1 billion won, representing a slight improvement in the loss compared to the previous quarter, while the net loss for the period was approximately 600 million won.
The company explained that while global sales of its flagship product, the endoscopic hemostatic agent “Nexpowder™,” remained robust, sales of “Nexsphere-F™,” a fast-acting embolization therapy for musculoskeletal pain, increased significantly, driving the growth in performance.
Second-quarter revenue for Nexpowder™ rose by approximately 19% from the previous quarter to about 4.1 billion won, accounting for 83% of total revenue. Notably, approximately 97% of Nexpowder™ revenue came from exports, continuing the company’s growth driven by overseas markets. By country, the export breakdown was 53% to the U.S., 41% to Europe, and 5% to Japan, with sales expansion in the U.S. and European markets standing out.
Results for NexSphere F, the company’s next-generation growth engine, are also becoming evident. NexSphere F’s second-quarter revenue reached approximately 520 million won, surging 62% from the previous quarter and 144% year-over-year. Currently, sales in Europe are being conducted primarily through individual distributors, and the company is expanding its global sales network, as evidenced by the signing of a distribution agreement with global medical device company Terumo in June for certain European countries.
Selling, general, and administrative expenses (SG&A) totaled approximately 4.5 billion won, an increase of about 15% from the previous quarter. This reflects increased R&D expenses related to clinical trials for NexSphere F’s U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval, as well as higher advertising and promotional expenses to expand overseas operations.
NEXTBIOMEDICAL CO., LTD. plans to continue pursuing global market expansion and strengthening product competitiveness in the second half of the year. In particular, the company states that clinical trials for NexSphere-F’s U.S. FDA approval are underway with the goal of completing patient recruitment by the end of the year, and that obtaining approval is expected to strengthen medium- to long-term growth momentum through entry into the U.S. market.
