[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] SHINee’s Onew (ONEW) is set to kick off his activities in Japan again by releasing a new song there for the first time in about a year. (Photo courtesy of Griffin Entertainment) According to his agency, Griffin Entertainment, ONEW released a trailer for his fourth Japanese single, “Kakera – Unmei no Piece,” via his official social media accounts at midnight on the 10th. The new single is set for release on September 16. This single marks his first new release in Japan in about a year, following his second Japanese mini-album, “Saku,” released last October. The title conveys the meaning of “fragments of destiny.” Onew plans to once again infuse his music with his signature delicate sensibility and warm, comforting messages. The released trailer also visually interprets the “fragment” theme central to the new single. It shows On Yu appearing alone in an empty space and discovering a single blue puzzle piece on the floor. Beginning with the scene of discovering a single piece and leading into the single’s message of “Fragments of Destiny,” the trailer heightens curiosity about the story that will be told through the new music. Following the release of the new single, he will meet with Japanese fans through a concert. ONEW will hold a solo concert titled “2026 ONEW Concert [ONEW THE LIVE: Q]” in Tokyo on September 22–23. “ONEW THE LIVE” is a branded concert series that emphasizes ONEW’s strengths: his live performances and vocals. Under the title “Q,” this concert will unfold ONEW’s musical journey on stage as he continuously poses questions and seeks his own answers.
