(Photo = Billions)Jung Eun-ji debuted in the music industry as a member of Apink in 2011 and has been pursuing solo activities alongside her group work since 2016. “Summer, I” is her first solo album in three years and nine months since she released the remake album “log” in November 2022. Produced as a mini-album, this release is titled “Summer, I.” At a press listening session held on the 6th at the Spigen Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Jung Eun-ji explained, “Since I was born in August—the summer—I thought ‘Summer’ was one of the words that best symbolizes me. I also felt that the emotion of love has many similarities to summer,” she explained. “So, I chose the album title ‘Summer, I’ to convey the meaning of ‘love, and me.’” The album features seven tracks, including the title track “Wave” (I LOVE YOU), as well as “No Fight,” “Linguini,” “Following the Wind,” “I Don’t Think We’ll Meet Again,” “Romantic Party,” and “Where Love Passed By.” Jeong Eun-ji personally participated in the production of all tracks, infusing the album with her own musical style and identity, while singer-songwriters 10CM and So Su-bin, guitarist Jeokjae, and lyricist Ahn Hyo-jin contributed to the project. It captures the entire journey of a relationship, from the beginning of love to the end.” The title track, “Wave,” originated from the question, “What kind of person am I when it comes to love?” Jeong Eun-ji explained, “I worked hard to create a song with a story and style that fans who appreciate the emotional tone of my solo debut track, ‘Sky Gazing,’ and my high notes would relate to and enjoy,” adding, “Since this is an album released in the summer, I also took the seasonal feel into consideration.” Regarding the lyrics, she elaborated, “It’s not about just diving into love, but rather being in the midst of swimming in the ocean,” adding, “I wanted to portray someone floating freely within love.” Jeong Eun-ji also highlighted “the thrill and refreshing sensation provided by the high notes” as the song’s appeal, smiling as she said, “I tried to create a song that makes you wonder, ‘Just how high does this go?’” She added, “I hope this song brings a little bit of cool relief to listeners during this sweltering summer.” Jeong Eun-ji will release the full album *Summer, I* via various online music platforms at 6 p.m. today. On the 12th and 13th of next month, she will hold a solo concert titled *Summer, I* at the Ticketlink 1975 Theater in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
