[Edaily Reporter PARK MIN ] ABION Inc.(203400)continued its upward trend for the second consecutive day on the 11th, trading at the daily price limit. Analysts attribute this sustained momentum to continued optimism following yesterday’s news that the company had successfully registered a U.S. patent for the core proprietary technology behind its next-generation immuno-oncology platform, “Interferon Beta Antibody Conjugate (iRAC™).”
According to MP Doctor on the 11th, as of 9:14 a.m., ABION Inc. is trading at 1,024 won, up 21.76% from the previous trading day. Early in the session, the stock even approached the daily price limit of +29.96%, reaching 1,093 won.
On the same day, the independent research firm ARIS analyzed that ABION Inc. is expected to begin in earnest the technology transfer of its core pipelines and the formation of global partnerships. ABION Inc. is a company developing new anti-cancer drugs using companion diagnostic-based precision medicine technology, and it is pursuing a growth strategy centered on technology transfer based on the development progress of its core pipelines and the securing of platform patents.
In particular, the company announced in a press release the previous day that “a patent for a recombinant protein combining an interferon-beta variant (IFN-β Mutein) with an antibody targeting cancer cells has been registered in the United States.” This patent pertains to the technical configuration for combining the interferon-beta variant with the target antibody.
The company explained that this patent enables it to protect the relevant technology applied to the iRAC™ platform with a U.S. patent.
iRAC™ is a platform that combines tumor-targeting antibodies with interferon-beta. Currently, ABION Inc. is developing ABN202, which utilizes the iRAC™ platform, in the preclinical stage. ABN202 is a candidate compound that targets Trop-2.
The company added that this U.S. patent registration is a significant milestone that enhances the commercial value of the entire platform, extending beyond individual pipeline candidates.
ABION Inc. official stated, “This U.S. patent is highly significant in that it protects the core proprietary technology of the iRAC™ platform itself, rather than a specific candidate compound,” adding, “By securing the platform’s scalability and exclusive rights, we have laid the groundwork to more actively pursue our global commercialization and technology transfer strategies.”
