[Edaily Starin Reporter KIM HYUNSIK ] The governor of Maryland has sparked buzz by releasing a video welcoming the K-pop group BTS to perform in Baltimore.

On the 9th (local time), Maryland Governor Wes Moore posted a roughly 30-second video welcoming BTS on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
In the video, set to BTS’s hit song “Butter,” Governor Moore said, “The seven of them share a single goal: to bring the world together by transcending the barriers of different cultures, regions, and languages,” adding, “This is truly amazing.”
He then called out the names of the seven BTS members—RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—one by one, before exclaiming, “Welcome to Baltimore. All you BTS ‘ARMY’ (fan club name), let’s hear it!”
Governor Moore drew attention by including Korean subtitles in the video. The video has garnered an enthusiastic response, with over 500,000 views and more than 26,000 “likes.”
BTS will perform their “ARIRANG” world tour at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium, a 70,000-seat venue, on the 10th and 11th.
