On the 10th, Lee Jong-hyun posted a lengthy message on his social
media account
.
In the post, he began by saying, “This is Lee Jong-hyun. I’ve left this account inactive for eight years.” He continued, “There were a few years when I turned my back on the world. Since then, I’ve been learning new skills to make a living,” adding, “I’ve found enjoyment in beauty marketing and have been pursuing it professionally.”
Lee Jong-hyun also shared photos of himself in business meetings and his workspace, which was filled with cosmetic samples.
He said, “This is what my day looks like these days. I attend meetings, examine products, and think about how I can do better.” He added, “I leave in the morning and come home at night. I’ve come to realize just how difficult it is to live an ordinary working life. I think everyone is truly amazing.”
Lee Jong-hyun also stated, “From now on, I’ll live my life as Lee Jong-hyun the person, communicating with more people.”
Lee Jong-hyun debuted in the entertainment industry in 2010 as a member of CNBLUE and has since pursued an acting career, appearing in dramas such as *A Gentleman’s Dignity*, *Orange Marmalade*, and *Lingerie Girls’ Generation*.
In 2019, while serving in the military, Lee Jong-hyun was embroiled in controversy after it was revealed that he was a member of the so-called “Jung Joon-young group chat.”
At the time, his agency, FNC Entertainment, stated, “Lee Jong-hyun, who feels ashamed and devastated, deeply accepts the public’s criticism regarding his flawed sexual ethics and values, and is filled with deep regret and self-reproach. As a public figure, he will be cautious in all his words and actions, reflect on his mistakes, and atone for them.”
Later that same year, in August, Lee Jong-hyun found himself at the center of controversy once again when direct messages—believed to have been sent to a female YouTuber—were made public. The messages included comments about the YouTuber’s appearance and expressions of interest in her.
Given that he had once again become the subject of controversy due to inappropriate remarks and behavior while he was supposed to be reflecting on his actions, CNBLUE fans reacted with intense criticism. In response, Lee Jong-hyun apologized, saying, “I am sorry to those who were hurt by my inappropriate remarks and behavior, and to everyone who was deeply disappointed,” and subsequently left the group.
