[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] ABION Inc.(203400)will participate in the “2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC 2026),” one of the world’s three major cancer conferences, to expand discussions on the global technology transfer of “Babamekip (ABN401),” a treatment for non-small cell lung cancer.
ABION Inc. announced on the 11th that it will invite global lung cancer clinical experts to WCLC 2026 to share the results of Babamekip’s global Phase 2 clinical trial and its future clinical and regulatory strategies. WCLC is the world’s largest academic conference dedicated to lung cancer, organized by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC). This year’s event will be held from September 12 to 15, bringing together global pharmaceutical and biotech companies, lung cancer researchers, and clinical experts to discuss the latest research, clinical outcomes, and new treatment strategies.
During the conference, ABION Inc. plans to host a separate session (Advocacy Meeting) to share Babamekip’s clinical results and development strategy with global lung cancer clinical experts and gather their feedback.
Babamekip is a targeted anticancer drug that selectively inhibits the hepatocyte growth factor receptor (c-MET). The company is currently conducting a global Phase 2 clinical trial and plans to use this conference as an opportunity to expand its network of global clinical experts and refine its future development strategy.
ABION Inc. will also conduct partnering activities aimed at global technology transfer. During the conference, ABION Inc. plans to meet with potential partners—including global pharmaceutical and biotech companies that have expressed interest in Babamekip—to share clinical results and future development plans, and to continue discussions on technology transfer and commercialization.
The company is also accelerating the global commercialization of its next-generation immuno-oncology platform. ABION Inc. will operate an independent booth at the conference to introduce its next-generation immuno-oncology platform, “Interferon Beta Antibody Conjugate (iRAC™).”
iRAC is a platform that utilizes tumor-targeting antibodies to selectively deliver interferon-beta (IFN-β) to the tumor microenvironment (TME). Recently, ABION Inc. completed the registration of a U.S. patent for a recombinant protein that fuses its independently developed interferon-beta mutant (IFN-β Mutein) with a cancer cell-targeting antibody, thereby strengthening its intellectual property foundation for global commercialization.
In addition, the company plans to hold detailed commercialization discussions with global clinical experts and potential partners regarding “ABN202,” which is currently under development based on the iRAC platform.
