"The Assassin(s)" Stars Yoo Hae-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Min-ho Confirmed to Attend the 51st Toronto International Film Festival

[Edaily Starin Choi Hee-jae Reporter] Director Hur Jin-ho’s new film, *The Assassin(s)*, will have its world premiere at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival.

Distributor Hive Media Corp. announced on the 11th, “Following the news that the film ‘Assassins’ has been officially invited to the Gala Presentation section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, we have confirmed the attendance of Director Heo Jin-ho, Yoo Hae-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Min-ho.”
"Assassins" is a story that investigates the suspicions and the forces behind the First Lady assassination attempt on August 15, 1974, which shocked South Korea.
The festival has invited works that have received acclaim from both audiences and critics, including *No Way Out* (2025), *Harbin* (2024), *An Ordinary Family* (2024), *Concrete Utopia* (2023), *Smuggling* (2023), and *Hunt* (2022)—all of which have received acclaim from both audiences and critics—*The Assassin(s)* has been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival’s Gala Presentation. The film’s lead actors will be traveling to Toronto in person.
Director Heo Jin-ho, along with actors Yoo Hae-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Min-ho, will attend the festival to participate in the world premiere schedule and share a meaningful experience with audiences around the world seeing *The Assassin(s)* for the first time. Based on a true story and enriched with cinematic imagination, *The Assassin(s)* features a rich narrative and a powerful ensemble cast of South Korea’s leading actors. Ahead of its official release this Chuseok, the film will make its debut on the global festival stage, further heightening anticipation for this well-crafted, highly anticipated film.
Directed by Hur Jin-ho—who has demonstrated exceptional storytelling and meticulous direction across genres, from *Cheonmun: Asking the Sky* and *Princess Deokhye*, has taken the helm, showcasing his exceptional storytelling and meticulous direction across all genres. He is joined by cinematographer Lee Mo-gae and lighting director Lee Seong-hwan, who have demonstrated fantastic teamwork on numerous projects including *Exhumation*, *Spring in Seoul*, *Hunt*, *Declaration of Emergency*, and *The Battleship Island*. Song Jong-hee, known for *How to Love in a Metropolis*, *Concrete Utopia*, and *Decision to Leave*, and Choi Yoon-seon, known for *Exhumation* and *Hunt*, are in charge of makeup and costumes, respectively. Additionally, Jeong Jae-hoon, the VFX supervisor for *Seoul Spring*, is overseeing the visual effects, rounding out the top-tier production team and bolstering confidence in the project.
*The Assassin(s)* is scheduled for a theatrical release this Chuseok.
