[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] “Even a Lottery Jackpot Winner Goes to Work”: Lee Jun-hyuk is set to win the lottery jackpot.
On the 12th, the production team behind the TVING Original series “Even a Lottery Jackpot Winner Goes to Work” released a teaser poster and trailer that hint at the transformed commute of Gong Eun-tae (played by Lee Jun-hyuk), who has won the lottery.
Based on the popular web novel of the same name, “Even a Lottery Jackpot Winner Goes to Work” is a Korean office drama that follows Team Leader Gong Eun-tae—who had been struggling to get by day after day—as he returns to work with a new mindset after winning the lottery jackpot, carrying 1.3 billion won in winnings instead of a resignation letter. While 1.3 billion won is no small sum, it’s just a bit short of what it takes to dramatically change one’s life. The story of an office worker who, upon coming into this money, finally begins to see his work and colleagues in a new light is set to deliver deep emotional resonance amid lighthearted humor. Directed by Yoon Young-bin of the film “Gangneung,” the series stars Lee Jun-hyuk, Seo Hyun-woo, and Oh Dae-hwan.
On the teaser poster, the extraordinary first-prize lottery ticket placed next to the employee ID of Gong Eun-tae—an ordinary team leader in Sales Division 1—catches the eye. Gong Eun-tae’s expression—which seems more indifferent than joyful about his win—clearly conveys the joys and sorrows of an office worker who has been fiercely enduring each day. The tagline “Going to Work Instead of Quitting!” adds to the intrigue, making viewers even more curious about his story: why he continues his ordinary daily life even after winning the lottery—the greatest stroke of luck in his life.

The teaser trailer released alongside the stills draws viewers deep into the reality of Gong Eun-tae’s work life. Gong Eun-tae arrives at work earlier than everyone else after enduring the usual hellish commute on the subway. His day—spent taking the brunt of being pushed around by superiors and subordinates alike, rendering his “Team Leader” title meaningless—evokes a bitter sense of empathy. Just as Gong Eun-tae is enduring it all and suppressing his anger once again, an unexpected windfall of “1.3 billion won” hints at a life about to change. However, the sweet fantasy is short-lived; Gong Eun-tae’s light-hearted stride as he decides to go to work instead of quitting only heightens the curiosity. “I’m going to turn that company upside down,” says Gong Eun-tae, his eyes sparkling. Curiosity mounts as to what changes will take place in the heart of Gong Eun-tae, who chose to go to work even after winning the lottery.
Lee Jun-hyuk stars as “Gong Eun-tae,” the team leader of Sales Team 5, who has fought fiercely to maintain a safe and ordinary life. Gong Eun-tae was promoted faster than anyone else, but as the “youngest team leader,” he finds himself caught in the middle between his superiors and subordinates. Having endured this situation for so long, he begins to gradually change his attitude toward life and work following the unexpected stroke of luck that is winning the lottery.
“Even the Lottery Jackpot Winner Goes to Work” will premiere exclusively on TVING on September 10 at 6:00 p.m., followed by its first broadcast on tvN on Monday, September 14, at 9:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, TVING has previously garnered attention by releasing “Yumi’s Cells 3” and “The Legend of the Mess Sergeant.”
All eyes are on whether “Even a Lottery Jackpot Winner Goes to Work” will follow in their footsteps.
