Woori Bank announced on the 12th that President Jeong had participated in the “Life-Saving Finance” relay campaign launched by the Korea Inclusive Finance Promotion Agency.
The “Life-Saving Finance” relay campaign is a public service initiative launched last July by Kim Eun-kyung, President of the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency. It was established to protect citizens struggling with illegal private lending and to spread the value of “life-saving finance” throughout society.
The campaign proceeds by having participants post a photo reflecting the campaign’s purpose on social media and then nominate the next participant.
President Jeong, who joined the campaign after being nominated by Cho Yong-byeong, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks, reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive finance and support for low-income households. President Jeong continued the relay by nominating Kang Tae-young, President of NH Nonghyup Bank, and Yoon Ho-young, CEO of KakaoBank Corp., as the next participants.
President Jeong said, “I was delighted to participate in this meaningful campaign initiated by the Korea Inclusive Finance Promotion Agency,” adding, “As Korea’s leading bank established with domestic capital, Woori Bank will continue to take the lead in supporting finance for the general public by actively practicing inclusive finance that helps and sustains financially vulnerable groups.”
