Daejong Film Awards The Korea Film Producers Association announced on the 12th that the 60th Daejong Film Awards will be held on March 12 of next year. This marks the first time the event has been held in four years following the organization’s bankruptcy. Launched in 1962, the Daejong Film Awards is Korea’s longest-running film awards ceremony. It has maintained a 60-year tradition and is considered one of the country’s three major film awards ceremonies, alongside the Blue Dragon Film Awards and the Baeksul Arts Awards. However, following the bankruptcy of the Korea Film Artists Federation—the event’s organizer—in December 2023, the trademark rights for the 2024 ceremony were put up for auction. The Korea Film Planning and Producers Association recently won the bid for the Daejong Film Awards trademark (service mark) and has been preparing to host the festival. The Korea Film Planners and Producers Association announced that it has designated November 20—the date the festival was first held—as “Daejong Day” to honor the history of the Daejong Film Awards and the dedication of Korean filmmakers. The 60th Daejong Film Awards will hold a ceremony to proclaim “The 1st Daejong Day” on the 20th at the Stay拉克 Hotel in Seoul.
