[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] Chemtros Co., Ltd.(220260), a company specializing in advanced chemical materials, achieved its best-ever financial results in the first half of this year, with significant improvements in both sales and profitability, driven by strong growth in its semiconductor materials business. (Photo courtesy of Chemtros Co., Ltd.) Chemtros Co., Ltd. announced on the 13th that its consolidated revenue for the first half of this year reached 41.3 billion won, a 53.5% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, operating profit totaled 5.8 billion won and net income reached 12.2 billion won, setting a new record for the best half-year performance since the company’s founding. In particular, second-quarter revenue reached 24 billion won, surpassing the 20 billion won mark for the first time on a quarterly basis. This represents an increase of approximately 39% compared to first-quarter revenue (17.3 billion won), indicating a marked acceleration in quarterly growth. These strong results were driven primarily by the semiconductor materials business. Revenue from the semiconductor materials division in the first half of the year reached 20.9 billion won, a sharp 161.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Consequently, the share of semiconductor materials in total revenue rose significantly from approximately 30% last year to about 51% in the first half of this year, achieving both revenue growth and portfolio diversification. Profitability metrics also improved noticeably. The cost of sales ratio fell by 12 percentage points, from 88% last year to 76% in the first half of this year. This is attributed to improved production efficiency resulting from business expansion, as well as an increased sales share of high-value-added products such as semiconductor materials. Currently, Chemtros Co., Ltd. is expanding its business with a focus on photoresist (PR) process materials used in semiconductor lithography (photo) processes. Based on its proprietary synthesis and high-purity purification technologies, the company supplies core materials for advanced processes and has recently expanded its product lineup to include materials for next-generation EUV (extreme ultraviolet) processes, thereby strengthening its technological competitiveness. The company forecasts that it will maintain a robust performance trend in the second half of the year as strong sales of semiconductor materials and stable cost ratios continue. A Chemtros Co., Ltd. official emphasized, “Going forward, we will diversify our high-value-added product portfolio, led by semiconductor materials, while simultaneously enhancing the competitiveness of our existing core businesses, such as lithium-ion battery additives, to solidify our position as a leading company in advanced chemical materials.”
