TOP RUN TOTAL SOLUTION CO.,LTD announced on the 13th that it posted consolidated revenue of 178.8 billion won and an operating profit of 300 million won in the second quarter of this year. Revenue increased by 21.6% from the previous quarter and by 47.8% year-over-year. Operating profit turned positive after posting a loss of 4.8 billion won in the previous quarter. The operating profit margin also improved by 3.5 percentage points, rising from -3.3% in the previous quarter to 0.2%.

The company explained that its revenue growth was driven by expanding demand for its flagship product, automotive backlight units (BLUs), in line with the global automotive industry’s shift toward software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and the trend toward larger, more sophisticated in-vehicle displays. TOP RUN TOTAL SOLUTION CO.,LTD supplies BLUs used in instrument clusters (Cluster), center information displays (CID), and head-up displays (HUD) to major customers.

The company noted that profitability also improved as cost structure optimization—achieved through automation and supply chain management (SCM)—began to take effect alongside the revenue growth.

The company plans to make the acquisition of LG Display’s automotive module business in Nanjing, China, during the second half of the year a new growth driver. According to the company, the module business has a unit price for finished products that is more than five times higher than that of the existing single BLU component, and is expected to contribute to future revenue growth and improved profitability.

TOP RUN TOTAL SOLUTION CO.,LTD stated, “The return to profitability in the second quarter signifies more than just quarterly results; as we build and enhance our business structure from BLUs to finished module products, we are establishing a framework where revenue growth leads to improved profitability.”

The representative added, “The trend toward larger and more premium automotive displays continues,” noting, “We plan to complete an integrated production system that spans from BLUs to finished modules, and based on this, we anticipate that profitability will improve even further in the second half of the year.”
