[Edaily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] Gun-il, a member of the boy band X-Dinary Heroes, is leaving the group and his agency in the wake of a controversy surrounding his personal life.

JYP Entertainment (JYP) announced this in a statement released on the 13th.
JYP explained, “We deeply recognize the gravity of the recent issues involving member Geon-il and have held thorough discussions with the artist from various perspectives,” adding, “As a result, we determined that it would be difficult for him to continue group activities, and we have decided to terminate his exclusive contract by mutual agreement.”
They continued, “Effective today, Geon-il has left X-Dinary Heroes and concluded his activities with the group,” adding, “We sincerely apologize to our fans for causing concern with this sudden news.”
Previously, a post by an internet user identified as “A,” who claimed to be Geon-il’s ex-girlfriend, appeared online. A alleged that while they were dating, Geon-il used profanity to disparage fans and expressed dissatisfaction with his activities. A also released audio recordings of phone calls and screenshots of messaging app conversations believed to be with Geon-il.
X-Dinary Heroes is a band that debuted in December 2021, and Geon-il has served as the group’s leader and drummer.
JYP stated, “Going forward, X-Ordinary Heroes will continue their activities as a five-member group,” adding, “We will provide unstinting support in every way possible so that the members can focus on their musical activities with stability.”
