[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] Comprehensive beauty company VT(018290)continued its revenue growth in the second quarter of this year, driven by expansion into global markets such as Europe and the Middle East. The company also announced a plan to repurchase and cancel 15 billion won worth of its own shares, signaling a commitment to strengthening shareholder returns.

VT announced on the 13th that it recorded consolidated revenue of 131.7 billion won and operating profit of 10.7 billion won in the second quarter of this year. Revenue increased by 18.1% compared to the 111.5 billion won reported in the same period last year.

Growth in new global markets was particularly notable. Sales in Europe rose 454% year-over-year, while those in the Middle East increased by 546%, driving revenue growth in the second quarter. In Europe, business-to-business (B2B) sales through channels such as DERMA SPACE and NOTINO gained momentum, and in the Middle East, sales expanded primarily through GRATIS in Türkiye.

Marketing efforts and distribution network expansion targeting the U.S. market are also continuing. VT promoted its “Active Performance Skincare” brand concept and held a pop-up event in Los Angeles (LA) with the U.S. beauty retailer ULTA Beauty. In the second quarter, the company began supplying its PDRN Duo Pack to Costco in the U.S., and since the existing Ridle Shot Duo Pack sold out, additional shipments are scheduled for the third quarter.

The domestic market also maintained its growth momentum following the first quarter. At Daiso, sales increased by approximately 65% year-over-year, driven primarily by the PDRN Radiance Line and Body Care Line. Sales at Olive Young also rose by about 47% quarter-over-quarter, bolstered by marketing activities such as a collaboration with the Pokémon intellectual property (IP).

A VT official stated, “The revenue effects of strategic marketing investments aimed at establishing our brand concept and spreading our brand value are gradually becoming apparent,” adding, “As growth trends become visible not only in Korea but also in new global markets such as Europe and the Middle East, our overall growth is continuing.” The official further noted, “We will continue to grow by expanding into global markets while building on our stable foundation in the domestic market.”

Meanwhile, VT also announced a plan to repurchase 15 billion won worth of its own shares on the same day. This marks the second time in about a year—following the repurchase last July—that the company is repurchasing shares on this scale, and the repurchased shares are scheduled to be canceled.

A company official said, “We will continue to create a virtuous cycle by providing shareholders with stable and predictable profit opportunities and sharing the benefits of increased corporate value with them.”
