Chaeyoung announced this news on the 13th by posting a handwritten letter on her social media channels. Chaeyoung stated, “I wanted to personally share this news first with ‘ONCE’ (the fan club name), who have always been by my side like family,” adding, “I plan to pursue my musical activities in my own ‘LIL FANTASY’ world.” She continued, “I’d like to express my gratitude to the JYP staff and the TWICE team for supporting and believing in me—a tomboy—for the past 14 years.” Chaeyoung said, “I believe the reason I’ve been loved so much is because of the time I spent as a member of TWICE, which is my foundation,” and added, “I will continue my activities with TWICE without fail.” Chaeyoung said, “I hope that both Chaeyoung of TWICE and Chaeyoung of ‘Lil Fantasy’ can become people who bring meaningful music into your lives,” adding, “I will become an even better person through these new challenges.” Chaeyoung has been active as a member of TWICE since 2015, following her time as a JYP trainee. JYP recently announced that it has entered discussions regarding contract renewals with the TWICE members. Amid this, member Jeongyeon announced on the 10th that she had moved to Baro Entertainment, an acting management agency where her older sister, Gong Seung-yeon, is signed. Jeongyeon also stated that she will continue her activities with TWICE. Meanwhile, “Lil Fantasy,” which Chae Young mentioned in her handwritten letter that day, is the title of her solo album released last September. Chae Young did not provide a clear explanation as to whether “Lil Fantasy” refers to the name of her one-person agency.
