Splayit, a rookie band formed on Mnet’s “Still Heart Club,” has finally turned their dream of debuting into reality. True to their description as a “growing teen band,” they filled the venue with overflowing energy, vitality, and a refreshing, positive vibe. Above all, it was a performance where the excitement of a newly debuted band was fully conveyed to the audience through both sight and sound.

Splayit took their first step toward their debut on the 13th by holding a showcase to celebrate the release of their first album, “SPLAY: CHAPTER 01,” at Ilji Art Hall in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. S-Split is a five-member band consisting of vocalist Yoon-chan, drummer Eun-bin, keyboardist Kyung-wook, guitarist Aiden, and bassist Eun-chan.
On this day, S-Split radiated youthful energy with their performance of the double title track “Last Train.” The five members, who took the stage with blonde hair and school-style outfits, became even more carefree once they picked up their instruments. In particular, the expression of the youngest member, Eun-chan—who never lost his cheerful smile throughout his bass performance—clearly reflected the joy of a rookie who had just fulfilled his dream of debuting.
“Since we’d been preparing for this stage for so long, I went in with the mindset of ‘let’s just enjoy it,’” Eun-chan said with a laugh, adding, “I figured that even if I made a mistake, the older members would cover for me with their amazing playing.” He went on to describe the present moment as a “dream,” revealing his overwhelming emotions: “I’ve always wanted to stand on a big stage, and I’ve always loved performing. This moment feels like a dream.”
There was also a member who shed tears due to the tension leading up to their debut. Yoon-chan confessed, “Just yesterday, Aiden suggested we have one last rehearsal together, and I suddenly burst into tears,” adding, “I cried so much that I was worried about the showcase.” In response, Aiden remarked, “I think we put on such a great performance today that it made yesterday’s worries seem trivial.”

Their debut album, “SPLAY: Chapter 01,” captures the emotions of youth—memories that will endure long after time has passed—through S-Split’s unique band sound. The title track “Last Train,” produced by Green Bottle Headquarters led by Lee Mu-jin, captures the fleeting moments of youth that will never return with a refreshing sound. Recalling the moment he first heard the song, Kyung-wook said, “The song was so good and the lyrics resonated so deeply that tears just rolled down my cheeks before I knew it.”
The other title track, “Domino,” bears an even stronger imprint of the members’ creative input. Yoon-chan and Kyung-wook participated in the composition, and the other members also contributed to the arrangement and performance. The song compares a single day to a domino effect and sings of hope for the future. Aiden explained, “We wanted to include the voices of all the members,” noting that even drummer Eun-bin’s voice was incorporated into the track.
The advice given by Lee Mu-jin also remains a challenge for S-Split to tackle in the future. Kyung-wook said, “Senior Lee Mu-jin advised us that to become memorable artists, we need to have our own unique style,” adding, “We’ve been striving to find S-Split’s own style and sensibility—something no one can easily imitate.”

Esplit has quite ambitious plans for the future. Citing Geomjeongchima and DAY6 as their role models, they mentioned stages they aspire to perform on—from the Pentaport Rock Festival and the Busan International Rock Festival to Tokyo Dome in Japan and The Sphere in Las Vegas, USA. It was a bold ambition befitting a rookie group that has just taken its first steps.
Yoon Chan said he wants to make S-Split “a refreshing band that provides strength and comfort on a tiring day.” He added emphatically, “We want to be a band that creates music that reveals something new the more you listen to it—not music you hear just once—and ultimately, a band that is recognized worldwide.”
Esplit’s debut album, *Play: Chapter 01*, will be released at 6:00 p.m. today.
