That day marked Kim Min-hee’s first public appearance in about two years since giving birth to a child out of wedlock. *Nowhere to Lay My Eyes*, Director Hong Sang-soo’s new film and Kim Min-hee’s first project in two years, was officially invited to the International Competition section at the Locarno International Film Festival. Speaking about her collaboration with Director Hong Sang-soo, Kim Min-hee appeared deeply moved, saying, “The director’s thoughts become the film’s voice, and for me to express that…” She continued, “I’ve never said this before, but it’s such a great joy and honor,” adding, “I think it’s a truly great joy and a blessing to be able to act out—through my own voice—these wonderful, original, and beautiful ideas that I’ve never even imagined myself.” Kim Min-hee remarked, “I want to make the lines in the film my own and remember them, but I forget them all so quickly, which is a bit of a shame,” though she added, “I feel like my acting is improving and becoming more distinctive. Discovering new sides of myself is refreshing, and I think it’s a great strength as an actress.” Kim Min-hee starred in *Nowhere to Look* and also served as production manager. She has consistently been credited as production manager in director Hong Sang-soo’s films. The two admitted to being in a romantic relationship during a press screening for the 2017 film *On the Beach at Night Alone*, thereby acknowledging rumors of an affair. Kim Min-hee is reported to have given birth to a son last April. Since then, eyewitness accounts of Director Hong and Kim Min-hee raising their child have circulated online. Kim Min-hee has not appeared in any other projects and is currently starring exclusively in films directed by Hong Sang-soo. She also currently serves as the production manager for Hong Sang-soo’s films.
