Finger Inc. unveiled “PHAROS MCP (Model Context Protocol),” which enables AI to directly utilize data from its cloud ERP system, “PHAROS ERP.” As its first use case, the company integrated PHAROS MCP with the “KICPA Excel Add-in” developed by the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants (KICPA), creating an environment where it can be utilized in actual accounting work.
MCP is a standard specification that enables AI to connect to and utilize data and functions from external programs or systems. By utilizing PHAROS MCP, AI agents can directly retrieve information—such as accounting journal entries, financial statements, business partners, and supporting documents—stored in PHAROS ERP for viewing, processing, and analysis.
For example, if an accountant requests the necessary data using natural language in Excel, the AI agent can retrieve the relevant information from the ERP and analyze it. The KICPA explains that this eliminates the need to download data from the ERP, transfer it to Excel, and process it separately—as was previously required—thereby improving the efficiency of accounting work.
The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants (KICPA) has integrated Pharos MCP with the KICPA Excel Add-in, enabling accountants to query, analyze, and verify ERP data within the familiar Excel environment. Since AI can be utilized for tasks such as journal entry queries, balance verification, and financial analysis, the scope of application is expected to expand to various accounting practices, including auditing and tax services, in the future.
Finger Inc. plans to expand the scope of AI utilization in Paros ERP, starting with this pilot project. The company intends to develop features such as AI-driven automation of financial closing and settlement, detection and verification of suspicious transactions, and automated generation of management reports, while expanding the adoption of Agent AI to accounting firms, accounting offices, and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Ahn In-ju, CEO of Finger Inc., stated, “Pharos MCP serves as the foundation that connects ERP systems with AI agents to enable their practical use in real-world work,” adding, “Starting with the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Excel Add-in, we will continue to expand the use cases for AI agents in accounting and tax practice.”
