LSK iRobot reported consolidated revenue of 18.77 billion won for the first half of this year, a 15.7% increase from 16.22 billion won in the same period last year.
Consolidated revenue for the second quarter was 10.21 billion won, an increase of approximately 19% from the previous quarter’s 8.56 billion won. Revenue growth continued throughout the first half, with quarterly revenue exceeding 10 billion won.
On a standalone basis, first-half revenue was 6.39 billion won, and operating profit was 430 million won. Although revenue decreased compared to the same period last year, the company maintained an operating profit, sustaining the profit base of its existing businesses. Net income turned to a profit compared to the same period last year, reaching 800 million won on a standalone basis and 1.7 billion won on a consolidated basis.
Building on its existing materials business, LSK iRobot is cultivating AI and robotics as its next-generation growth engines. The company recently completed the acquisition of OneTouch AI, an AI application software firm, and is pushing forward with the commercialization of vision AI solutions, primarily targeting manufacturing sites.
The company is also working to secure a competitive edge in AI technology through collaborations with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and joint research with the University of Birmingham in the UK. Its strategy is to diversify its business portfolio by adding new AI and robotics ventures to the stable revenue base of its existing materials business.
An LSK iRobot official stated, “While continuing to see revenue growth in the first half of the year, we have confirmed the profitability of our existing business,” adding, “In the second half, we plan to strengthen our growth foundation by improving profitability, expanding the scope of vision AI applications—particularly in manufacturing environments—and accelerating the commercialization of our AI and robotics business.”
