[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] SHINSUNG E&G(011930)has partnered with Korea Green Data, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based energy management software company, to explore new business opportunities that combine manufacturing and energy facilities with data platforms.

SHINSUNG E&G announced on the 14th that it signed a “Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation for Energy Business Based on the Convergence of Facilities and Data” with Korea Green Data at its headquarters in Gwacheon.

This agreement was established to enhance energy efficiency and pursue joint commercialization by combining SHINSUNG E&G’s business infrastructure—which includes solar power generation, cleanrooms, dry rooms, and data centers—with Korea Green Data’s AI-based data analysis, monitoring, and energy management platform.

Korea Green Data is an AI-based energy management software company established in 2020. It provides services such as the energy operating system “GreenOS,” the electrical safety solution “GreenGuard,” and the Agent AI “Greeny.” A key feature of its solutions is the ability to diagnose energy usage status without adding separate meters to existing facilities.

Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on building a platform to analyze and monitor power generation volume and performance data from solar power generation facilities, as well as on improving energy efficiency in cleanrooms, dry rooms, and data centers. They will also pursue plans to jointly commercialize solutions that integrate equipment with data platforms and to develop new markets.

As their first collaborative project, they will conduct a pilot operation by implementing Korea Green Data’s “GreenOS” at SHINSUNG E&G’s Yongin Smart Factory. The Yongin Smart Factory is equipped with solar power generation facilities utilizing its roof and idle land, as well as an energy storage system (ESS); the two companies plan to validate a model that analyzes solar power generation and factory energy consumption within a single data framework.

Lee Ho-jun, CEO of Korea Green Data, stated, “What customers now demand is not equipment specifications, but data on actual consumption and emissions,” adding, “Our collaboration begins with quantitatively demonstrating the operational performance of cleanrooms, data centers, and solar power facilities.”

Cho Hyun-sung, Head of the Manufacturing Division at SHINSUNG E&G, said, “This agreement aims to apply Green Data’s AI energy management technology to manufacturing sites to establish a demonstration model that integrates and analyzes solar power generation and factory energy consumption within a single data system.” He added, “Through this, we expect to secure a leading reference case in the manufacturing energy AX sector and expand opportunities for future joint ventures and commercialization.”

Meanwhile, SHINSUNG E&G is also expanding its investments and collaborations with technology companies in the energy sector. In 2023, the company made an equity investment in Sixty Hertz, an energy IT firm specializing in Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), and continues to collaborate with Ion Earth, a startup developing mobile energy storage systems (ESS), and DataBin, a company specializing in immersion cooling technology for data centers.
