[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] Four Seasons Premium Resort MONAYONGPYONG(070960)maintained an operating profit in the first half of this year despite a hiatus in new sales projects. In the second half, the company plans to improve its performance by revitalizing operations during the peak season, attracting more international tourists, and resuming new sales projects.

MONAYONGPYONG announced on the 14th that it recorded consolidated revenue of 81.7 billion won and operating profit of 1.2 billion won in the first half of 2026. These figures represent decreases of 48.9% and 93.9%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

While revenue from development and property sales was reflected in the same period last year, overall revenue and operating profit declined in the first half of this year due to limited revenue recognition from new property sales. However, the company maintained an operating profit through systematic pricing management and operational efficiency improvements.

The net loss for the first half totaled 3.3 billion won. The company explained that profitability temporarily slowed in the second quarter due to seasonal factors affecting the resort business and the集中 recognition of recurring expenses such as property taxes.

MONAYONGPYONG plans to drive performance improvements in its resort operations as the peak season begins in the second half of the year. The company intends to boost visitor numbers by expanding year-round tourism content and wellness programs centered around Mount Balwang, while systematically managing the selling prices of rooms and key products and strengthening profitability and product competitiveness across each sales channel.

The company will also diversify the regions from which it attracts foreign tourists. It plans to expand its existing overseas sales base—which has focused on Greater China, including Taiwan and China—to Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Americas. The company intends to secure demand from both group tourists and independent travelers (FIT) by collaborating with travel agencies in each country and utilizing global online travel agencies (OTAs) and foreign-language direct sales channels.

Preparations are also underway to address the gap in the real estate sales business, which weighed on first-half performance. MONAYONGPYONG is sequentially proceeding with the necessary procedures, aiming to launch the second phase of the Olympic Village project in the second half of the year. Through this, the company plans to strengthen a structure where its development and real estate sales businesses grow in tandem with its resort operations.

A MONAYONGPYONG official stated, “This year, we are strengthening systematic cost management and operational efficiency based on a solid foundation,” adding, “In the second half of the year, we will strive to improve performance and enhance corporate value by revitalizing operations during the peak season, diversifying overseas markets, and advancing the Olympic Village Phase 2 sales project.”
