[Edaily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] The band X-Dinary Heroes has canceled the fan meeting it had planned to hold next month. This comes in the wake of leader and drummer Geon-il’s sudden departure amid controversy over his personal life.

On the 14th, their agency, JYP Entertainment (JYP), announced via X-Dinary Heroes’ official social media channels that it had decided to cancel the fan meeting “THE X-TOWN,” which was scheduled to take place from the 18th to the 20th of next month at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium.
JYP apologized, stating, “We sincerely apologize for having to deliver this sudden news to our fans who have waited so long and looked forward to the fan meeting.”
Previously, a post by an internet user identified as “A,” who claimed to be Geon-il’s ex-girlfriend, appeared online. A alleged that while they were dating, Geon-il used profanity to disparage fans and expressed dissatisfaction with his activities. A also released audio recordings of phone calls and screenshots of messenger conversations believed to be with Geon-il.
In response, JYP issued a statement the previous day, stating, “We determined that it would be difficult for Geon-il to continue participating in group activities, so we have mutually agreed to terminate his exclusive contract,” and added, “Geon-il is leaving X-Dinary Heroes and ending his activities with the group.”
Extraordinary Heroes, who debuted in December 2012, have become a five-member group following Geon-il’s departure. The group was scheduled to perform at the “Summer Sonic 2026” music festival in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, on this day and the 16th, respectively, but these appearances were also canceled due to the fallout from Geon-il’s departure.
JYP stated, “We take fans’ concerns and worries regarding X-Dinary Heroes’ future activities very seriously,” adding, “With the exception of fan meetings, future activities will proceed without disruption according to the original schedule, and we will do our best to greet fans with an even better image.”
They went on to reiterate their apology, saying, “We sincerely apologize once again for causing concern and disappointment to our fans due to this sudden situation.”
