[Edaily Starin Choi Hee-jae Reporter] Veteran actor Ma Do-sik (real name Woo Sang-ik) has passed away.

According to the film industry, Ma Do-sik passed away at the National Medical Center in Seoul at around 11:07 a.m. on the 14th. He was 82 years old.
Born in Goesan, North Chungcheong Province, in 1944, the late actor was a prominent weightlifter representing the province. He later began his acting career in 1960 with a role in director Choi Hoon’s film *Sunflowers Blooming at Night*.
He appeared in supporting and minor roles in numerous films, ranging from *The Crazy One*—which gained popularity thanks to singer Jeon Young-rok’s starring role—to *Great Ambition*, *Black Belt*, and *The Champ’s Rage*.
In 1993, under the name Ma Ju-haeng rather than Ma Do-sik, he directed the film *Lost Desire*. He wrote the screenplay and played the lead role. He also sang the theme song.
In 2024, he was named an advisor to the Korean Film Actors Association.
The funeral hall is located in Room 203 of the National Central Medical Center Funeral Home. The funeral procession will depart at 12:40 p.m. on the 15th.
