The two companies have previously collaborated on the distribution, production, and promotion of Pokémon-related music. To mark the 30th anniversary of *Pokémon*, this album was produced as a combination of physical merchandise and digital tracks, allowing fans to enjoy both the characters and the music together.
The album includes eight representative OST tracks, ranging from “We Go” by aespa—the opening theme song for the TV anime “Pokémon: The Adventures of Rico and Rod”—to the opening and ending themes from the latest series, “Pokémon: Rising Again.”
A key feature is the ability to listen to the tracks using the “Captain Pikachu” plush toy. An NFC Poké Ball is embedded inside the toy’s hat; when tapped against the back of a smartphone, it connects to KT GENIE MUSIC’s smart album platform, the “StayG Albums” app. Users can then download and listen to the tracks within the app.
In addition to the Captain Pikachu plush toy, the package includes merchandise for Pokémon fans, such as an animation art book, photo cards, and stickers.
Sales of the album began on the 16th at the “Pokémon Paradise” pop-up store, located in the atrium on the first floor of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil, Seoul.
A KT GENIE MUSIC representative stated, “It is meaningful to produce this 30th-anniversary album in partnership with Pokémon Korea, with whom we have built a long-standing partnership in the Pokémon music business,” adding, “We plan to continue our close collaboration based on the synergy between our two companies.”
