According to Nielsen Korea on the 17th, the nationwide viewership rating for the 12th episode—the finale of “Apartment”—which aired the previous day, was recorded at 7.7%. This figure represents a 1.6 percentage point increase from the previous high of 6.1% set in the 10th episode and marks the drama’s all-time highest rating.
“Apartment” is a drama that follows Park Hae-gang, a former boss of the Oasis Gang who seeks to claim money hidden in an apartment complex, as he works with the residents to uncover corruption.
In the finale, Park Hae-gang (played by Ji Sung), realizing that “The Lizard” (played by Kim Won-hae) had fallen into Lee Chung-won’s (played by Park Byung-eun) trap, set out to rescue him. With the help of Kim Kyung-nam (played by Jeong Sun-won), Jang Je-gil (played by Hwang Hee), and “Big Dung-i” (played by Kim Kyu-won), they escaped together. Subsequently, 12 sets of remains were discovered at Taego-won, leading to Lee Chung-won being placed on a public wanted list. Park Hae-gang subdued Lee Chung-won, who had lured him into a trap, and returned the bag containing 17.8 billion won to the management office.
At the scene of Lee Chung-won’s appearance before the prosecution, Park Hae-gang released audio and video recordings containing Lee Chung-won’s confession to the murder of Park Yong-man (played by Jung Jin-young), as well as evidence of the connection between the Taego-won remains and the One Club. As a result, One Club figures—including the Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs, a Supreme Court Justice, a media company CEO, the Prosecutor General, and the National Police Agency Commissioner—were arrested one after another. Later, Park Hae-gang visited the grave of Park Yong-man, who had been like a father to him, to declare that his revenge was complete.
Three years later, Kang Ha-jeong (played by Ryu Hyun-kyung) opened a bakery with Kim Kyung-nam, Jang Je-gil returned to law school, and the eldest son appeared working at a salad shop. Kang Ha-ri (played by Ha Yoon-kyung), now a lawyer, co-founded the law firm “Jeongsan” with Park Hae-gang, and Do Ma-raem, who had been released from prison, rejoined them.
“Apartment” concluded with the group invalidating the contract of the True Value Residents’ Association—which had been facing a 600 million won penalty due to the administrative team leader’s breach of trust—and launching a special audit of the apartment complex.
