Experts in rehabilitation medicine and robotic rehabilitation from South Korea, Italy, and Vietnam participated in the event to discuss the clinical application of robotics and strategies for its expansion in Vietnam’s healthcare sector. Phan Minh Hoang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Rehabilitation Hospital, served as the session chair.
From South Korea, Na Dong-wook, a professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Yonsei University Severance Hospital and Chief Clinical Officer at ANGEL ROBOTICS Co., Ltd., delivered a presentation on wearable exoskeleton robots and robot-assisted gait training.
ANGEL ROBOTICS Co., Ltd. introduced the “Angelex M20,” a wearable gait rehabilitation robot, and the “Angel Suit H10,” a wearable robot for gait training that recently completed registration in Vietnam. The company is expanding its product lineup to allow for the integrated use of these two products based on the patient’s functional level and stage of rehabilitation.
Following its entry into the Vietnamese market last year with the Angelex M20, the company recently completed medical device registration for the Angelsuit H10 and signed an agreement with a local specialized partner. The company plans to use this symposium as an opportunity to solidify its business strategy, including product evaluations at local medical institutions, training for medical staff, and the establishment of a service system.
The company is also shifting its overseas expansion strategy from simply selling individual products to building local healthcare ecosystems. This approach involves integrating medical device registration, securing local partners, training medical staff, establishing reference hospitals, and providing maintenance and service into a single business framework, which is then expanded to other products and countries.
ANGEL ROBOTICS Co., Ltd. is also pursuing medical device registration and local business partnerships in Thailand and Malaysia. The company plans to expand its wearable rehabilitation robot business across key ASEAN countries based on the market entry model established in Vietnam.
Building on the wearable robot and human-robot interaction technologies it has accumulated in the healthcare sector, the company is also broadening its business scope to include defense and industrial safety.
Jo Nam-min, CEO of ANGEL ROBOTICS Co., Ltd., stated, “It is important to create an environment where local medical professionals can understand new robotics technologies and evaluate them in real-world clinical settings,” adding, “Based on the model we are establishing in Vietnam, we will build a sustainable foundation for the K-robotics business in key ASEAN markets.”
