[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] MDS Tech(086960)reported that, driven by revenue growth in artificial intelligence (AI) and embedded solutions as well as improved performance from its subsidiaries, the company surpassed 100 billion won in first-half revenue for the first time since its founding.
MDS Tech, a company specializing in AI and embedded solutions, announced on the 18th that its consolidated revenue for the first half of this year reached 108.5 billion won, a 29.3% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, operating profit stood at 8.7 billion won, and net income was 8.6 billion won. Both first-half operating profit and net income exceeded the company’s full-year results from last year.
The company explained that revenue growth was driven by expanding sales in the NVIDIA GITSN and DGX product lines, as well as in the semiconductor and automotive embedded solutions sectors, following the recent growth of the physical AI market. Combined with improved performance from major subsidiaries, this led to enhanced profitability.
The operating profit margin for the first half of the year was 8.0%, up 4.2 percentage points from the same period last year.
Growth continued on a standalone basis as well. First-half revenue reached 69.7 billion won, a 20.2% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit and net income totaled 6.3 billion won and 4.3 billion won, respectively.
An MDS Tech official stated, “With strong performance expected this year in Chonbang industries such as semiconductors and automobiles, we will strengthen the competitiveness of our core businesses, including our mainstay embedded solutions.” The official added, “We also plan to continue our steady growth by identifying new business opportunities that can drive earnings growth.”
