[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] VIVOZON PHARMACEUTICAL(082800)announced on the 18th that sales of its non-narcotic analgesic “Anaprazu” reached approximately 2 billion won in the second quarter of this year, marking a 229% increase from the previous quarter. The company explained that sales are gaining momentum as prescriptions have expanded, particularly at major medical institutions, since the product’s launch last October.

Sales of Anaprazu rose from approximately 300 million won in April to about 700 million won in May and approximately 1 billion won in June. Notably, in June, monthly sales exceeded 1 billion won for the first time since the product’s launch.

Anapra is a non-narcotic analgesic designed to manage moderate-to-severe acute pain following surgery. VIVOZON PHARMACEUTICAL has secured supply references at major tertiary general hospitals, including Samsung Seoul Hospital and Sinchon Severance Hospital, and is using this as a foundation to expand Drug Committee (DC) reviews to general hospitals and facilities with fewer than 300 beds.

To meet the increase in sales, the company is also securing additional supply. As existing domestic stock has been depleted, the company recently placed an additional order for approximately 120,000 vials of Anapra Injection. Production will be handled by its existing manufacturing partner, Sichuan Huiyu Pharmaceutical in China.

The company is also accelerating global commercialization through its affiliate, Vivazon. Vivazon recently received a patent registration decision from the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) for a high-concentration injectable formulation of Anapra. This formulation is characterized by reducing the container size to less than one-tenth of the existing size, thereby improving efficiency in production, transportation, and distribution.

VIVOZON PHARMACEUTICAL is preparing for a U.S. Phase 3 clinical trial using this high-concentration injectable formulation and has begun producing clinical trial drugs through a global contract manufacturing organization (CMO). The company is also in discussions with global pharmaceutical companies regarding investment and joint development partnerships.

In addition, the company is pursuing the commercialization of “VVZ-2471,” an oral, non-narcotic analgesic candidate. According to the company, Phase 2 clinical trials confirmed the potential for analgesic efficacy, particularly in the high-dose group, and the company recently received a notice of grant from the European Patent Office (EPO).

A representative from VIVOZON PHARMACEUTICAL stated, “Following the launch of Anapraz, supply has expanded, particularly to major medical institutions, resulting in second-quarter sales more than tripling compared to the previous quarter.” The representative added, “We will accelerate our establishment in the domestic market by securing additional production capacity and expanding supply to medical institutions, while also proceeding smoothly with global commercialization in collaboration with our affiliate, Vivazon.”
