Rapper Swings shared his thoughts on making his acting debut under his real name, Moon Ji-hoon. At a production briefing held on the afternoon of the 18th at CGV Yongsan in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Swings said, “I’ve been making music for 20 years, but I’ve always loved movies. I ended up acting just six months after announcing my intention to start acting.”
Moon Ji-hoon, who had expected it would take five years to make his acting debut, explained his change of heart, saying, “I started with a sense of resolve, but I was grateful that this project came along so quickly.” He added, “Because I know this is a precious experience, I felt the weight of it and realized I needed to be humble. Now that I’ve actually made it this far, I’m becoming even more humble.”
He continued, “While the work I’ve done so far may have played a part in my being cast here, I know that the blessings I’ve received far outweigh that,” adding, “I’m simply filled with gratitude.”
Moon Ji-hoon, who is set to make a strong impression as Abraham in the drama, also shared details about his preparation for the role. “I spent several months tanning,” he said. “I also had to maintain my hairstyle, but if I went out without using styling products, I looked ridiculous. My fans and friends would ask, ‘Why are you walking around like that?’ but I couldn’t talk about it publicly, so I just put up with the teasing.”
He also shared the story behind his 13kg weight loss. Moon Ji-hoon said, “I gained weight up to 105kg and then lost it down to 92kg,” adding with a laugh, “I feel bad for the director because I gained it all back again in the middle of filming.”
Director Choi Guk-hee recalled the reason for casting Moon Ji-hoon, saying, “Even though his role was brief, I wanted a strong, fresh face.”
He continued, “I held many auditions, but I wasn’t satisfied with the results,” adding, “Just as I was struggling with the decision, actor Byun Yo-han showed me a compilation of Moon Ji-hoon’s acting clips. It was so refreshing, and after meeting with him, I cast him.”
Regarding Moon Ji-hoon’s confession that he had regained his weight, he added, “It looked quite different in every scene,” drawing laughter.
“Tazza 4,” the final installment of the “Tazza” series, is a crime thriller in which Jang Tae-young (Byun Yo-han)—who thought he had it all thanks to his online casino business—and his best friend of the same name, Park Tae-young (Noh Jae-won), who took everything from him, meet again on the global gambling scene to settle a score.
Unlike the previous three installments, *Tazza 4* delves deeply into the relationship between the two friends; it is known as the work with the most dedicated fan base among the original manga series by author Heo Young-man. It opens on the 23rd of next month.
