Ma Dong-seok’s agency, Big Punch Entertainment, announced on the 18th, “Following his role as the lead in ‘TYGO,’ a spin-off film based on the ‘Extraction’ universe, Ma Dong-seok is set to appear in ‘Extraction 3,’ continuing his global action film career.”
On the 17th (local time), Netflix revealed the main cast of “Extraction 3” and announced that filming had officially begun. Joining Ma Dong-seok are new cast members Pierce Brosnan, Joe Taslim, Chi Lewis-Parry, and Sienna Agudong. Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, and Golshifteh Farahani will also appear in the film. “Extraction 3” is directed by Sam Hargrave, who helmed the previous film, with David Weil of “Citadel” serving as screenwriter.
“Extraction 3” follows Chris Hemsworth, who reprises his role as Tyler Lake, as he embarks on a new mission. However, the specific plot and the roles of the new cast members have not yet been determined. It is reported that “Extraction 3” will be filmed primarily on location over several months, promising action on an even larger scale.
Earlier, Ma Dong-seok also announced his casting in the Netflix film “Taigo.” In the film, Ma Dong-seok plays Taigo, a mercenary and war orphan. “Taigo” tells the story of Taigo, who embarks on a life-or-death mission to rescue Ria—whom he treats like family—after she is kidnapped by a criminal organization while he is on a critical mission. Lee Jin-wook and BLACKPINK’s Lisa also star in the film, which is currently preparing for its Netflix release.
Ma Dong-seok is currently in the midst of filming the movie “The Roundup 5.” “The Roundup 5” began production on May 24, and Ma Dong-seok returns as Ma Seok-do, a “monster detective” who has been promoted to team leader of the Metropolitan Investigation Unit.
