[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] SGA Solutions Co.,Ltd.(184230), a comprehensive IT security solutions provider, announced on the 19th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Keyfair, a company specializing in post-quantum cryptography (PQC), to collaborate on “PQC Zero Trust business initiatives.”
Through this agreement, the two companies will work together to identify joint business opportunities, collaborate on sales and marketing, and integrate sales channels. They plan to exchange product and technical information and integrate SGA Solutions Co.,Ltd.’s Zero Trust platform with Kypair’s PQC technology to develop concrete security models applicable to the public, financial, and defense sectors.
With advancements in quantum computing technology, the “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later (HNDL)” threat—where encrypted data is collected now and decrypted later using quantum computers—has come to the forefront, accelerating efforts to transition existing encryption systems to PQC. In South Korea as well, as pilot implementations across various industries and discussions on regulatory reforms proceed, demand for combining Zero Trust architecture with quantum-resistant security is growing.
The company expects the government’s policies to foster the quantum industry to further contribute to the expansion of this market. Through the “7 Major SEED Future Growth Engines” project, the Ministry of Science and ICT plans to secure a domestically produced 100-qubit-class quantum processor (QPU) capable of error correction, develop a full-stack quantum computer, and establish the “K-Quantum Foundry” by 2029. It also plans to build a quantum security system that combines quantum cryptographic communication with quantum-resistant cryptography.
SGA Solutions Co.,Ltd. is targeting the relevant market based on its full-stack zero-trust platform, “SGA ZTA.” The company has led the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Zero Trust demonstration and pilot projects for three consecutive years, and this year was selected as the lead organization for the national R&D project titled “Development of Korean-Style AI-Based Zero Trust Open Platform Technology Compliant with Global Standards.” It plans to develop open application programming interfaces (APIs) and AI-based threat analysis technologies, while expanding its business into the public, financial, and defense sectors, as well as Zero Trust as a Service (ZTaaS).
Established in 2011, KIPARE is a company specializing in Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC). It possesses technologies related to its PQC Key Management System (KMS) “QORA KMS,” hardware security modules (HSMs), security chip design, and cryptographic algorithms and libraries. The company has experience in the National Intelligence Service’s Cryptographic Module Validation Program (KCMVP) and in the supply and operation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), and has recently been expanding its business scope into the defense and financial sectors.
Lee Chang-geun, CEO of KeyFair, stated, “In a zero-trust environment, it is crucial to ensure security throughout the entire process of cryptographic key generation, storage, and use, not just access control.” He added, “Based on the technologies and track records accumulated by both companies, we will pursue joint pilot projects and commercialization to set a new standard for quantum-resistant security in the domestic zero-trust market.”
Choi Young-chul, CEO of SGA Solutions Co.,Ltd., remarked, “This MOU marks the starting point for jointly designing a next-generation security system to address the era of quantum computing.” He continued, “By combining KIPARE’s PQC technology with SGA Solutions Co.,Ltd.’s Zero Trust capabilities, we will implement a PQC Zero Trust model applicable to the public, financial, and defense sectors and expand our business opportunities.”
