On the 19th, Geoje City announced, “Lissenne, along with their fanbase REMINE, donated 50 million won to aid in the recovery from the recent torrential rains in Geoje and help displaced residents return to their daily lives.” It is reported that Lisenne came together to help affected residents and support swift recovery efforts following the torrential rains that fell in the Geoje area from the 15th to the 17th, which caused flooding, landslides, and damage to roads and infrastructure. The donated funds will be used to support displaced residents struggling due to the torrential rains as they return to their normal lives. Lisenne gained attention as a “comeback sensation” after leader Won-i visited her hometown of Geoje City last April to film content and was seen shouting “Geoje, Yaho!”—a moment that went viral. Not only did that scene become a popular meme, but the group’s song “LOVE ATTACK” also recently experienced a resurgence, climbing to No. 1 on major music charts. Since being appointed as a Geoje City promotional ambassador last May, Lisenne has participated in various promotional activities to highlight the city’s charm. This donation is particularly meaningful as it demonstrates how the special bond between Lisenne and Geoje City has translated into giving back to the local community. Geoje Mayor Byeon Gwang-yong stated, “The warm-hearted gesture from Lisenne will be a great source of comfort and strength to our citizens,” adding, “We will use the donated funds wisely to support disaster recovery efforts and help citizens return to their daily lives as soon as possible.”
