[Edaily Reporter Kim Kyung-eun ] SKSecurities(001510)is also trading higher in tandem with SK hynix(000660)’s large-scale shareholder return plan. This is interpreted as reflecting expectations for increased commission revenue, as SKSecurities will handle SK hynix’s 40 trillion won share buyback.

According to MP Doctor on the 20th, as of 9:16 a.m., SKSecurities(1P)(001515)is trading at 5,000 won, up 950 won (23.46%) from the previous trading day. At the same time, SKSecurities is trading at 2,395 won, up 230 won (10.62%).
It appears that expectations that SKSecurities—which is acting as the broker for the buyback—could benefit from SK hynix’s decision the previous day to acquire and cancel 40 trillion won worth of its own shares have driven up the stock price.
SK hynix held a board meeting yesterday and decided to purchase 24.07 million common shares on the open market. The planned purchase amount is 40.00434 trillion won, representing approximately 3.3% of the total issued shares.
The share buyback period runs from today through November 19. SKSecurities will act as the brokerage firm entrusted with the purchase of the treasury shares. The maximum daily purchase order volume is 2,407,000 shares.
SK hynix plans to complete the repurchase of its shares within the designated period and cancel the entire lot within one to two weeks thereafter.
At this time, SK hynix is trading at 1,634,000 won, up 134,000 won (8.93%) from the previous trading day.
