Records First Revenue from “ProstaView”… Commercialization of Korea’s 43rd New Drug FutureChem Co., Ltd. announced today that it generated revenue following the first sale of “Prostaview Injection” (florastamine (18F), project name FC303), a new drug for prostate cancer diagnosis.
ProstaView received marketing approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on April 30 as the 43rd domestically developed new drug. Following procedures such as notification by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service and code registration at medical institutions, the product moved from marketing approval to actual sales in approximately four months.
Market observers interpret this as a boost to investor sentiment, as the company has moved beyond mere new drug approval to the stage of generating actual revenue.
Prostavue is a radiopharmaceutical for PET imaging that targets prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) and is used to diagnose prostate cancer patients in whom recurrence or metastasis is suspected based on existing imaging tests. In a domestic Phase 3 clinical trial, it demonstrated a positive predictive value (PPV) of 87.0%.
Starting with this initial sale, FutureChem Co., Ltd. plans to gradually expand the number of healthcare institutions it supplies, while also pursuing product approval and distribution in overseas markets, including China.
FutureChem Co., Ltd. official stated, “Prostavue, Korea’s 43rd domestically developed new drug, has achieved its first commercial success by transitioning from product approval to actual sales and revenue,” adding, “We will rapidly expand domestic and international supply to grow Prostavue into a new core revenue source for the company.”
