[E-Daily Reporter An Yu-ri ] DANAL CO., LTD.(064260)announced on the 21st that it has become the first domestic payment gateway (PG) company to officially join the global “Open Standard” ecosystem.
“Open Standard” is a consortium driven by joint governance among more than 140 global companies worldwide, including Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, SamsungElectronics, and Google.
While numerous South Korean banks and credit card companies have joined the Open Standard as partners, DANAL CO., LTD. is the first domestic payment gateway (PG) provider to join the consortium.
DANAL CO., LTD. emphasized that it has joined as a key participant in “Open USD (OUSD),” a U.S. dollar (USD)-backed stablecoin, and expects to secure a firm competitive edge in the next-generation global digital asset payment market starting with this consortium participation.
Through its participation in this consortium, DANAL CO., LTD. will gradually introduce OUSD-based payment and settlement functions into its extensive domestic merchant network and payment infrastructure. Since OUSD is governed by the consortium’s board of directors rather than a single issuer and is launched natively on major blockchain networks such as Solana and Base, interoperability between existing financial infrastructure and blockchain networks is expected to be maximized. Furthermore, this is expected to enable the establishment of an efficient cross-border payment and digital asset settlement environment.
A DANAL CO., LTD. representative stated, “In line with future regulatory developments, we will proactively introduce OUSD to DANAL CO., LTD.’s vast network of merchants and partners to provide payment services that meet global standards, and we will play a leading role in driving the expansion of blockchain-based financial services worldwide, with a focus on Asia.”
