[Edaily Reporter Kim Min-jung ] Actress Jeon Won-ju revealed that she has not sold a single share of SK Hynix stock, which she purchased 15 years ago when it was trading in the 20,000-won range.
The KBS1 program “Docu Insight—Semiconductor Money: The Trajectory of Money,”which aired on the 20th, covered the domestic semiconductor industry and investment trends while featuring Jeon Won-ju’s investment in SK Hynix.(Photo: KBS1 “Docu Insight—Semiconductor Money: The Trajectory of Money”)
On the show, Jeon Won-ju said, “Whenever people see me, they always ask how to make money. They ask, ‘How can I make money?’ It gives me a sense of fulfillment to share that kind of advice with young people these days.”
It is reported that Jeon Won-ju purchased SK Hynix shares for around 20,000 won per share in 2011, before the SK Group acquired Hynix. Although the stock price has fluctuated several times since then, she has not sold her shares and continues to hold them long-term.
When the production team asked, “Haven’t you sold your SK Hynix shares yet?” Jeon Won-ju replied, “I still have them all. I’m just waiting—until the price goes up even more.”
The program estimated that Jeon Won-ju’s return on her SK Hynix investment would reach approximately 7,000–9,000% compared to the purchase price.
Jeon Won-ju said that when people ask her for stock investment secrets, she advises them, “Take it one step at a time. Don’t think about taking the elevator. One day, it’ll suddenly skyrocket without you even realizing it.”
Jeon Won-ju has previously revealed on various TV shows that she has grown her wealth by investing not only in stocks but also in gold and real estate. She is well known for her frugal lifestyle, which includes regularly using public transportation and keeping a household budget.
