[Edaily Starin Reporter KIM HYUNSIK ] Jonathan, a TV personality from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, will appear as a contestant on KBS 1TV’s “National Singing Contest.”

According to the “National Singing Contest” production team on the 21st, Jonathan will appear in Episode 2179, “Seoul Jung-gu Special Edition,” which airs on the 23rd.
The “Seoul Metropolitan City, Jung-gu District” episode will feature the finals performances of a total of 17 teams that advanced through the preliminaries. During the recent taping at Jangchung Gymnasium, Jonathan—who recently garnered attention for his YouTube content “The Korean Black Association”—made an appearance and captured the audience’s attention.
Jonathan took the stage as part of a four-member boy band he formed with friends, and the program’s producers reported that he delivered a cheerful and energetic performance set to songs such as Choi Ye-na’s “Catch Catch” and Ailette’s “It’s Me.”
Hosted by comedian Nam Hee-seok, “National Singing Contest” airs every Sunday at 12:10 p.m. Last week’s episode, No. 2178, recorded this year’s highest viewership rating of 7.4% (based on Nielsen Korea’s national standards). Guest singers for the “Jung-gu, Seoul” episode include Yoon Soo-hyun, Kim Tae-yeon, Ryu Ji-gwang, Hong Seong-yoon, and Kim Yong-bin.
