[E-Daily Reporter SOYEON KIM ] SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD. announced on the 21st that it has decided to transfer a stake in Samsung Display, valued at 4.4 trillion won, back to Samsung Display.
The number of shares to be transferred (sold) is 13,088,235, representing approximately 33% of its total holdings (39,856,654 shares). The transfer amount is 4.4499999 trillion won.
The company explained that the move is “intended to secure investment funds to ensure future growth.” If the sale proceeds as planned, SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD.’s stake in Samsung Display will decrease from 15.2% to 10.2%.
Earlier this past February, SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD. announced that it would sell its stake in Samsung Display within the year. The funds secured through this share transfer are expected to be used for investments such as the construction of a U.S. factory.
