On the 21st, Park Wi released CCTV footage of the incident via his YouTube channel, “Wiracle.” The video shows Park Wi, who was in a wheelchair, falling after the wheel got caught on the foot of a social service worker who was assisting him as he descended the boarding ramp. As he fell, Park Wi braced himself with his arms, preventing his head from hitting the ground first. Describing the incident, Park Wei said, “It was a hair-raising moment,” adding, “It wasn’t done intentionally, but the mere fact that he had his foot on the ramp made me angry.” After the video was released, some critics pointed out that it was inappropriate to publicize the mistake made by the social service worker—who had already apologized—as it directed criticism toward a specific individual. As the controversy grew, Park Wi deleted the video. In a statement posted on his YouTube channel, he said, “I’m sorry for disappointing so many people,” adding, “I viewed the mistake—which occurred while he was trying to help me—only in a negative light. My way of communicating was immature, and I was short-sighted.” He concluded, “I will take the advice to heart and approach content creation with a more mature attitude.” Meanwhile, Park Wi was diagnosed with quadriplegia following a fall in 2014 and has been sharing his journey of regaining mobility through rehabilitation exercises as a YouTuber. Park Wi married Song Ji-eun, a former member of the girl group Secret, in 2024.
