[Edaily Reporter Oh Hee-na ] The "Seoul Medical Tourism International Travel Mart" will be held to promote domestic and international medical tourism.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Foundation announced on the 24th that they are organizing the “2026 Seoul International Medical Tourism Travel Mart (SITMMT)” to expand business exchanges in medical tourism both domestically and internationally, and are currently recruiting participating companies.

Now in its 8th year, the event will take place over two days, September 8–9, at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel. It is expected to feature approximately 370 participating companies, including 70 overseas buyers and 300 domestic sellers.

In particular, this year’s event will be held in conjunction with the “World Chuna Festival,” taking place on September 7 at the same venue, to showcase a variety of traditional Korean medicine and wellness-focused content to the domestic and international medical tourism industries. To generate tangible business results among participating companies, this event features a variety of programs, including △B2B consultation sessions (Travel Mart) △promotional booths △briefing sessions △a networking evening △and pre-event familiarization tours for international buyers.
The core program, the B2B Matchmaking Session (Travel Mart), will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel, while side events—including promotional booths, seminars, and the Networking Night—will take place in the hotel lobby and the Namsan Room. Pre-registered participants will have the opportunity to schedule pre-scheduled meetings (PSA) until September 3. In addition, top domestic sellers with the highest application rates will be selected to receive special benefits, such as the opportunity to attend the Networking Night with overseas buyers and participate in briefings. The pre-event familiarization tour for overseas buyers will be held on September 7 in conjunction with the World Chuna Festival, providing an opportunity to experience Seoul’s traditional Korean medicine and wellness offerings firsthand.
Domestic companies wishing to participate can apply through the official website from the 26th through September 3.

Meanwhile, the previous “2025 Seoul International Medical Tourism Travel Mart (SITMMT)” established itself as a leading medical tourism business platform, with a total of 358 companies (70 from 17 countries overseas and 288 domestic companies) participating, conducting a total of 2,176 business consultations and negotiating contracts worth approximately 57.4 billion won.

Cho Seong-ho, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Bureau of Tourism and Sports, stated, “Seoul, chosen by 1.76 million foreign patients last year, is the optimal medical tourism destination offering everything from medical treatment and surgery to recovery and wellness. We are preparing for this Travel Mart to take a leap forward as a global medical tourism business platform.” He added, “We ask for the active interest and participation of companies so that the tourism industry can be further revitalized through exchanges within the domestic and international medical tourism sectors.”
