[Edaily Reporter Kim Kyeo-Re ] NVIDIA, the world’s largest company by market capitalization, will announce its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027 (May–July) after the market closes on the 26th (local time). Driven by increased investment in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, revenue is expected to nearly double, resulting in the company’s best quarterly performance ever. NVIDIA. (Photo: AFP) According to Reuters and other sources on the 25th, the market expects NVIDIA to report revenue of approximately $92.06 billion and adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $2.09 for the May–July period. This represents a year-over-year increase of about 97% in revenue and approximately 99% in adjusted EPS. Revenue is also expected to rise by about 13% compared to the previous quarter. The data center business, which accounts for 90% of NVIDIA’s revenue, is expected to have driven growth again this quarter. The consensus estimate for data center revenue, compiled by market research firm Visible Alpha, is approximately $85.7 billion—more than double the $41.1 billion reported in the same period last year. The market is focusing more on the third-quarter guidance NVIDIA will provide than on its second-quarter results. Wall Street expects third-quarter revenue of approximately $104.05 billion and adjusted EPS of $2.36. Whether NVIDIA presents a forecast that meets or exceeds market expectations is likely to serve as a benchmark for determining the sustainability of the AI investment cycle. The supply situation for next-generation AI accelerators is also a key concern. Investors are closely watching management’s explanations regarding the pace of revenue growth for Blackwell—the current flagship product—and the timing of mass production and revenue contribution from the next-generation Vera Rubin platform. The ability to sustain revenue growth without supply disruptions during the product transition is considered a key variable for the future of the data center business. The AI capital expenditure trends of major cloud providers are also a key point to watch in the earnings report. As the dominant supplier in the AI semiconductor market, comments from NVIDIA management regarding the return on investment and future capital expenditures of major clients such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon could influence investment sentiment across the global tech sector. NVIDIA’s stock price has fallen for seven consecutive trading days amid rising U.S. Treasury yields. The direction of semiconductor and tech stocks—which have been on a recent downward trend—is expected to hinge on NVIDIA’s earnings report. NVIDIA’s stock price has declined following its earnings announcements for the past four consecutive quarters.
