After confirming high interest from local visitors during its debut last year—as evidenced by long lines and early closures of demo sessions—the company plans to build on that momentum by participating in TGS for the second consecutive year.
Netmarble Corporation views this game show as a crucial stepping stone for continuously expanding its global revenue share. The company will showcase three titles this year: *Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Strongest Species*, *I Alone Level Up: Karma*, and *Pearl in Blue*. Although the three titles differ in genre and target audience, they share the common traits of being “well-suited for the Japanese market” and making their “debut” at the event.
From game adaptations of IPs with a solid fan base in Japan to new narratives and genre-bending challenges based on globally popular IPs, and the first-ever unveiling of the company’s own IP in subculture genres highly favored locally—each title leverages its unique strengths to target a broad user base. In particular, the company is stepping up efforts to drive success by significantly enhancing locally tailored content and a diverse range of visitor experience programs.
<Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Strongest> is a mobile and PC tag-swap combat RPG based on the popular IP “Shangri-La Frontier,” which has surpassed 1 billion cumulative views and 17 million cumulative copies sold in Japan. As one of the key titles leading the charge into the Japanese market, it is currently in development with a target release in Japan in the second half of this year.
<I Alone Level Up: Karma> is a roguelike action RPG currently in development based on the globally popular IP “I Alone Level Up” anime. “I Alone Level Up” is an IP that has established a strong foothold in the Japanese market through its anime and other media. Netmarble Corporation has previously demonstrated the global commercial potential of games based on this IP with <I Alone Level Up: RIIZE>.
<PEARL in Blue> is a new game based on Netmarble Corporation’s original IP, making its debut at this year’s TGS. It is being developed as a mobile subculture collectible RPG where players connect with girls, each with their own unique stories. The game combines the fun of training a knight order—who serve as both heroes and influencers—with 2D anime-style cutscenes and romantic comedy-style character interaction content.
A Netmarble Corporation representative stated, “At this year’s TGS, we plan to present distinctive interactive events—including demos, stage programs, and hands-on experiences—tailored to the genres and IP characteristics of each title.” They added, “We will make every effort to ensure local users can directly experience the core gameplay, world-building, and charm of the characters, thereby securing a new fanbase in Japan and achieving meaningful results in the global market.”
