On the 26th, Park Soo-hong posted on his social media account, stating, “Recently, a flight delay occurred due to my family during the boarding process.” He added, “This caused significant inconvenience by taking up many people’s valuable time, and it also caused trouble for the airline staff. I bow my head and offer my sincere apologies.” He explained, “At the time, my child was crying so much that I couldn’t even take my seat immediately after boarding. In my panic, I made an ill-judged decision. Fearing that my child’s crying would cause even greater inconvenience to fellow passengers during the long flight, I initially informed the cabin crew of my intention to disembark.” He continued, “While waiting in the cabin, my child stopped crying, so I expressed my intention to reboard, but I failed to realize that this could significantly delay the process, including security screening. “This incident occurred entirely due to my ignorance of aviation procedures, and there is absolutely no excuse for it,” he said in his apology. Park Soo-hong added, “Once again, I bow my head in deep apology to the passengers and airline staff who suffered great inconvenience due to my shortcomings.” Previously, posts had circulated online claiming that Park Soo-hong’s family had recently boarded an international flight bound for Guam, and after their child wouldn’t stop crying, they initially expressed their intention to disembark but later changed their minds, causing a flight delay. Subsequently, a video showing Park Soo-hong repeatedly apologizing on board was released, sparking a heated debate. Some netizens criticized the Park Soo-hong family’s behavior as “disruptive,” while others showed understanding, commenting, “Watching the video of the crying child, it was clearly a serious situation,” “We have to understand that a child was crying,” and “I saw in the video that he kept apologizing.”
