Yang Soo-kyung will kick off her national tour “Inyeon” on October 18 at the CCC Stage in the Cube Convention Center in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
Yang Soo-kyung said, “This is the first time—and only the second time—since 1992 that I’m holding a nationwide concert tour officially under my own name.”
She added, “Just because you dream of something doesn’t mean it will come true, does it? I’m grateful to have been given this precious opportunity. I’m truly happy right now as I prepare for the concert.”
Yang Soo-kyung debuted in the music industry in 1988 and scored hits with songs such as “The One I Can’t Look At,” “Love Is Like Rain Outside the Window,” “Love Is a Cold Temptation,” “Where Are You?,” “You,” and “Where Does This Farewell End?”
Yang Soo-kyung reflected, “I was active during the ‘K-pop Renaissance’ era, when every genre was popular. Thanks to that, every song I released was well-received.”
Yang Soo-kyung was active not only in Korea but also in Japan, winning awards such as the NHK-TV New Artist Award, the Asia’s Top 5 Stars Award, and the New Artist Award at the Japanese MTV Top 10 Singers Music Festival.
She said, “Even when I received the New Artist Award in Japan, I never foresaw that Korean singers would gain global popularity,” adding, “When I see younger artists like BLACKPINK and G-Dragon being loved these days, I feel proud not just as a singer but as a citizen of South Korea.”
Yang Soo-kyung left the music industry after releasing her ninth album, *Huae*, in 1998, but resumed her activities in 2016. During her hiatus in 2013, she also endured the heartbreak of losing her husband.

Regarding her long hiatus, she said, “For a while, I even wondered, ‘How free would I be if I lived without singing?’ I reflected on myself, asking, ‘Who am I?’ and I also lived my life avoiding the changing landscape of the music industry as generations shifted.”
Now, after putting in the hard work herself, she is brimming with passion for music—so much so that she has successfully organized a nationwide tour. Yang Soo-kyung emphasized, “For this tour, I lost weight through exercise and practiced singing diligently.”
The nationwide tour, titled “Inyeon,” is produced by Choi Min-seon, CEO of Good Concert, with Lee Si-chan, CEO of Shine Entertainment, serving as the executive artistic director. The regional performance schedule will be announced at a later date.
CEO Choi Min-seon has previously worked on performance projects with numerous singers, including Nam Jin, Shim Soo-bong, Jo Hang-jo, Jo Young-nam, Kim Jong-seo, Kim Kyung-ho, Kim Soo-hee, Kim Jung-min, So Hyang, Kim Ki-tae, Byun Jin-seop, and Kim Jang-hoon. He expressed his ambition, stating, “I will create a concert that doesn’t just evoke memories but can reignite the youthful spirit of middle-aged and older audiences.”
Yang Soo-kyung said, “I will strive to present a performance that preserves the emotional essence of the original songs,” adding, “I’d also like to sing songs by artists who were active around the same time as me.”
Yang Soo-kyung is also preparing to release her new song, “I Can’t Love Again.” She explained, “I tell myself, ‘I should live without being too ambitious,’ but strangely, when it comes to singing, it’s hard to let go of that ambition,” adding, “I still see areas where I need to improve, so I won’t be able to release the new song today. I plan to debut it on stage during a future concert.”
She continued, “When I was younger, I used to think, ‘Why are senior singers saying such cliché things?’ whenever they said, ‘I’m married to my music,’ but now I understand the deeper meaning behind those words. I’m happiest when I’m Yang Soo-kyung, the singer.”
Finally, she pledged, “I may be in my 60s, but my heart isn’t. My goal is to keep singing as long as my health allows, and I’ll continue my career without any regrets.”
