[E-Daily Starin Reporter YUN GI BACK ] Singer Nina, who has made a name for herself in the Greater China region, is set to launch her activities in Korea with her second mini-album. NINA (Photo courtesy of Ricov, B&B Industry) NINA will release her second mini-album, “WHY NOT ME?”, on the 30th at 6:00 p.m. This is her second mini-album since her official debut in the Korean music industry last June. This album weaves together the process of self-discovery and growth through love into a single narrative. The six tracks capture the emotional journey that begins with excitement, passes through anxiety, heartbreak, regret, and separation, and ultimately leads to self-love. The album features a total of six tracks, including the title track “Why,” as well as “Shadow Boxing,” “QT,” “mamapapa,” “Tell Me Where Are We,” and “Say It for Me.” All songs are performed in Korean, signaling a strong focus on domestic activities. She has also broadened her musical horizons. Centered on contemporary R&B, she moves seamlessly between hip-hop, pop, swing EDM, alternative pop, and ballads to express the varying emotions in each track. The album features domestic and international producers, including composers Kim Do-hoon and Lee Hyun-seung, and Nina herself is credited as a composer on “Tell Me Where Are We,” further showcasing her potential as a singer-songwriter. Nina achieved notable success in the Greater China region before gaining traction in South Korea. Last year, she performed on domestic music shows with “Freeze!,” the title track from her first mini-album, *NEVER AFRAID*. The track “One Spot” surpassed 1 million streams on major Chinese music platforms and topped the QQ Music Korean chart for three consecutive weeks. Her first Chinese-language single, “Meimei Sunday” (美美Sunday), released the same year, surpassed 390 million plays on Douyin as a trending track, boosting her local recognition. This comeback is also significant in that it channels the interest she has garnered in the Chinese-speaking world into her domestic activities. Having built a track record in the Chinese-speaking market, all eyes are on Nina to see how distinctly she will leave her mark on the K-pop market with this album, which features all Korean-language tracks.
