[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] Kim Dong-han and Yoo Yong-ha of the group WEi are leaving WE Entertainment. Kim Dong-han will take a brief hiatus from activities as he begins his military service following the expiration of his exclusive contract.

On the 25th, WE Entertainment announced via its official social media channels, “We have held lengthy discussions with Kim Dong-han and Yoo Yong-ha regarding their future activities, and while respecting each other’s opinions, we have mutually agreed to terminate their contracts upon the expiration of their exclusive contract terms.”
The agency added, “We would like to express our deep gratitude to Kim Dong-han and Yoo Yong-ha for giving their all as our artists,” and stated, “We will sincerely support the new activities and paths that both of them will pursue in the future.”
Kim Dong-han also personally shared his thoughts on the contract termination with fans. “I feel a mix of emotions sharing this news so suddenly,” he said, reflecting on the time he spent with the WEi members since joining WE Entertainment.
He expressed particular affection for his time with WEI. “Together with the members, I learned, laughed, and wrestled with challenges—experiences I would never have had on my own—which helped me become a stronger person,” Kim Dong-han said. “Thanks to the members who shared the same goals and stood on stage with me, and to the RUi fans who cherished those moments, my time with WEI was a time of tearfully happy memories.”
After his exclusive contract ends, he will begin his military service. Kim Dong-han explained, “I’m wrapping up my contract as an artist for a while and will be stepping away to fulfill my military service,” and promised, “During this time, I plan to reflect on and take care of myself for the first time. I’ll return stronger and as a better person.”
Yoo Yong-ha also stated, “I felt I needed time to think about my future plans,” expressing his intention to consider his next steps. He conveyed his unwavering affection to the WEi members, saying, “Just having gained members who became like family to me made it a happy time without any regrets.”
WEi is a boy group that debuted in 2020 with their first mini-album, *Identity: First Sight*. The group started with six members—Kim Yo-han, Jang Dae-hyun, Kim Dong-han, Yoo Yong-ha, Kang Seok-hwa, and Kim Jun-seo—and promoted with songs such as “Twilight,” “Bye Bye Bye,” and “Too Bad.” In addition to their group activities, the members have continued to pursue individual careers in various fields, including solo projects and acting. Among them, Kim Jun-seo appeared on Mnet’s “Boys 2 Planet,” which aired last year, was selected as a final member, and is currently active as a member of Alpha Drive One.
