The NFC Forum is an NFC technology standardization organization whose members include SamsungElectronics, Sony, and Apple. Global NFC-related companies submitted products for this year’s Innovation Awards, and after a review process, 10 products were selected as finalists.
VOLTEND is a locking solution that operates solely via NFC without a battery and is applied to LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) systems to prevent malfunctions during equipment maintenance and inspection in industrial settings.
VOLTEND incorporates an NFC sensor IC developed in-house by 3ALogics. Inc. and is characterized by its ability to operate without a separate battery through NFC energy harvesting. The company also holds patents related to battery-free NFC locking devices.
The final winners will be determined through a global community vote involving NFC Forum member companies and others, and the results are scheduled to be announced during the NFC Forum Member Meeting to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, during the week of October 5.
Building on this Top 10 selection, 3ALogics. Inc plans to expand VOLTEND’s presence in overseas industrial safety and equipment markets.
